Memory
Lane Cruisers of Clarksville is a non-profit organization organized
in 1994 for the sole purpose of its members, who have a common interest in classic cars, street rods,
muscle cars, classic trucks and other special interest vehicles.
Club members create and promote good fellowship among all members of
MLC as well as others having the same interest.
Monthly
Club Business Meetings are on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at the
Veterans Plaza, Montgomery County Library located 350 Pageant Lane
just off Madison Street. All members are encouraged to attend and
participate in the business side of the club. The club was formed
for the members and by the members. Meeting times: 7:00pm to 8:00pm.
Afterwards, many members will drive to a local restaurant to eat and
socialize.
Club
Activities change every week, depending on what's going on in Middle
Tennessee. Some of the members may travel long distances to car
shows, swap meets or cruise-in's, while others remain close to home
and attends local car shows, swap meets, etc. However, each month,
on the Sunday following our monthly business meeting, club members
will decide upon a unique destination, such as a restaurant, museum
or other interesting sites and will convoy in our classic vehicle.
We call these "Rod Runs". All members are encouraged to check the
newsletter or the web page titled Club Activities.
Monthly
Cruise Nights hosted by Memory Lane are on the 1st Saturday night of
each month at the KMart / Wendy's parking lot. The Cruise in starts
at 6:00pm, but most MLC members arrive early to assist in the setup.
Normally, our cruise night attracts over 100 vehicles, depending on
the weather. Then on the other Saturday nights, MLC members
travel to other cruise-in's and enjoy visiting with friends and
seeing different vehicles. Check the newsletter or web page titled
"Local Events" for other cruise in's.
MLC
annual Car Show is called "Autumn Run" as it is planned late in
September. The event is our major fund raiser during the year, and
most of the proceeds are donated to local charities, such as the
Fisher House at Ft. Campbell, Ronald McDonald House or other
Clarksville area charities and historically, we have donated money
for local scholarships. MLC members are encouraged to assist in
the planning of the car show and members are asked to secure door
prizes and plaque sponsors prior to the car show.
Club
membership is open to anyone who would like to join. The annual
membership fee is $25.00. A membership is a family membership
including spouse, significant other, and children 18 years or under
sharing the same residence.
The
club operates by the Roberts Rules of Order at each of the business
meetings. Each of the Board of Directors are volunteers who are
nominated and elected annually. All members are encouraged to attend
the business meetings monthly.
Newsletters will be posted on the website each month and will be
mailed to those members who wish to receive a paper copy.
For
privacy reasons, Membership Rosters are available at each of the
business meetings or by contacting the Club Secretary.
